Arita Ware White Porcelain Collection

It was around the beginning of 1600as that the Korean potters who settled in Arita in the present day Saga prefecture found high quality natural porcelain clay or "jiseki," and built their ascending kiln.
The smooth surfaced "Arita ware" fired in this kiln became popular and was admired all over Japan.
The materials used for Arita ware are the "Izumiyama toseki" that has been used for over 400 years, and the "Amakusa toseki" with its characteristic bluish whiteness.
These are both highly pure natural porcelain clay that can be used to make porcelain without mixing other materials, which is quite rare throughout the world.
Amakusa toseki porcelain especially was used daily because it was not only thin and light, but also robust.
For this reason, they evolved together with the Japanese and their way of living.
Here, we introduce the tea sets, wine sets, and flower pots with the beauty of the pure white characteristic of Arita ware.
