耐水・防腐性を高めていきます。

The charm of Echizen lacquerware, with its 1500 year history, is a graceful appearance reminiscent of the bowl’s original mold, a soft, restrained luster, and a solidity refined over many years under the aesthetics of daily life.
The raw material of the lacquer is a precious sap, of which only about one cup can be taken from a single tree in a year.
After a process of 40 delicate steps, it is painted on in layers, giving texture to the plain wood and improving its resistance to water and decay.
As opposed to the Wajima-nuri and Kyo-shikki styles of lacquerware, which are used to adorn weddings and celebrations, Echizen lacquerware, with its clean, neat shine, is perfect for everyday tableware,elegantly holding either Japanese or Western food and drink.
